Amid Extreme Weather, 364 Ramadan Aid Packages Reach Lombok Residents

Bandung, 05 March 2026 – In the spirit of sharing in the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim Aid Australia (MAA) International collaborates with Insan Bumi Mandiri (IBM) as a partner to distribute basic food packages to beneficiaries in a number of Lombok areas. The distribution of this aid is spread across four other regions such as Bandung, Yogyakarta, Bima and Sikka with a total of 2,000 packages with the aim of helping meet people’s basic needs during Ramadan.

The distribution of aid reached 364 beneficiaries spread across four Lombok locations, namely East Mareje with a total of 64 packages, Aik Mual with a total of 100 packages, Duman with a total of 100 packages, and the East Lombok area with a total of 100 packages. All assistance is provided in the form of basic food packages such as rice, oil, wheat flour, canned sardines and sugar.

Conditions in the field are a challenge for the distribution team. In contrast to Duman, which can still be reached because it is close to the center of Mataram City, the journey to East Mareje and Aik Mual must pass through the mountains. The heavy rain that fell during the distribution disrupted communication signals, while the roads became slippery, uphill, and at several points damaged due to the heavy rainfall. However, the team continued their journey with great care to ensure that the aid reached the beneficiaries.

The atmosphere of distribution of aid in Lombok was orderly and full of togetherness

Even though they face various obstacles in the field, the volunteers continue to carry out their duties with enthusiasm. Iwan, a field volunteer, expressed his commitment to carrying out the mandate of distributing aid. “This is a great and noble mandate from our brothers in Australia. So no matter how difficult the challenge is, we must face it,” he said.

The aid distributed is prioritized for people in need, including underprivileged families, the elderly, orphans and other vulnerable groups. It is hoped that the presence of these basic food packages can ease the burden of daily needs while providing a sense of calm for the beneficiaries while carrying out the Ramadan worship.

This distribution of aid confirms the commitment of Insan Bumi Mandiri and Muslim Aid Australia in ensuring that no community is left behind, including those in remote areas. This collaboration is a step in strengthening the resilience of underprivileged communities, as well as encouraging sustainable philanthropic practices and having a broad impact. In the future, strategic partnerships like this will continue to be expanded to reach more beneficiaries in various regions.
